Rockford K. Draper

Dr. Draper is a professor at the University of Texas at Dallas with joint appointments in the Department of Molecular & Cell Biology and the Chemistry Department. He is a member of the NanoTech Institute and the Institute of Biomedical Sciences and Technology. His research interests include membrane cell biology and developing the interface between cell biology and nanotechnology.

In 2002 he initiated the Bionanosciences Group at U. T. Dallas that brings together chemists, nanotechnologists, engineers, and biologists to explore biological applications of nanotechnology.

Projects currently underway include studies of membrane trafficking in mammalian cells, the design and characterization of biocompatible carbon nanotubes as chemotheraputic agents, and applications of subcellular nanomanipulation and nanoprobes to cell biology.
